Creating Comfortable Green Spaces in Harmony with Nature
Ryoji Nakayama Landscape Design creates comfortable green spaces that connect everyday life with the natural environment.

Rather than perfectly manicured gardens, we value landscapes that feel alive—like stepping into a woodland. Layers of trees, native plants at ground level, filtered light, and shifting shadows form spaces where people can relax while plants, insects, and other living organisms quietly coexist. We believe such environments bring a gentle richness to daily life.

In our garden design and construction, we primarily use native plant species and sustainable methods that respect local climate, soil, and ecosystems. We consider the character of stones, the individuality of plants, and how the landscape will grow and change over time. From material selection to construction and long-term care, we work consistently to create spaces that support both people and local biodiversity.
This depth is achieved through careful, hands-on craftsmanship.

By listening closely to each client’s lifestyle and values, we shape landscapes that belong naturally to their place. Beyond gardens, we also design plant-based exterior and interior spaces, offering forms of greenery that harmonize with each environment.
Our work is rooted in a life spent growing, learning, and living alongside nature. Through year-round mountain hiking, we have experienced diverse landscapes and plant communities firsthand, gaining a physical understanding of how nature functions as a whole. These experiences form the foundation of our approach.

With sensitivity and experience, we continue to create green spaces that gently support ecosystems and remain cherished over time.
